Bordering On Romance Blender Pen and Marker Tutorial

Today I'd like to share with you in detail how to color with markers and a blender pen on Crumb Cake card stock.
This was my original card I made using this technique.
Here's a set of cards I have up for sale on Ebay right now.

Start by embossing your image in white on Crumb Cake card stock.
Add your base color.  In this case I used Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Blush Blossom and Lucky Limeade.  I used the brush tip end and if you click on the photo to get a larger view, you'll see it's kind of messy and there is color on the white embossing lines.  This will clean up later when you use your blender pen, and if it doesn't, you can give the image a light rub with a soft cloth or tissue to clean up the emobossing lines.
To show you the next step, I added color to an image that does not have base color.  I wanted you to see clearly where I added the next, darker color.  IMPORTANT: Do not add all of these lines at once.  Add them one at a time, blending each before you move on to the next section of your design.  I only added them all at once to this image so you could see all shading areas and how LITTLE you actually add.
As you add each layer of darker color, use your blender pen to lightly color in small circles to blend and move color along edges of design as shown above.  When you blend each line as you add it, it will actually blend in much better than what you see above. The image above was blended after adding all the darker lines. Hopefully, you get the idea.
The next step is to add a outline of Sahara Sand marker around the outside edge of the entire design.  If you click on the image, you should be able to see a larger version of the photo.
Here's the completed image on a card.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
You can purchase all the supplies needed to create your own cards and projects using this marker/blender pen technique in my online Stampin' Up! Store.

For Sale on EBAY

I recently had some car trouble, so I'm frantically trying to replenish my convention fund (dipping into it is how I was able to repair the car).  This card set is up for sale on Ebay...HERE.
Colors are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red.
To get the look on the flowers (Retired set: Flower Fest), stamp on Whisper white, then use a sponge dauber to add color in a circular motion.  Punch out with 1 1/4" circle punch and then you only have to cut out the notches around the leaves.
Hope you enjoy the idea!

Gift bag of Herb Dip Mixes

I'm headed to a birthday party this afternoon and I'm taking this little gift bag of Ricky and Lucy's Dip Mixes for the birthday girl.  She and her husband like to entertain, so I thought this would be a nice gift.
These dips are phenomenal!  Created by a friend of mine, owner and creative mind behind Ricky and Lucy's Greenhouse, Teri.  Seriously, these dips are outrageously delicious and unique.
AND, you can get them from me directly now.
Contact me if you'd like a gift bag JUST LIKE THIS ONE to give a friend.
Have a FABULOUS day!

Father's Day Card Idea with Stampin' Up! Varsity Alphabet

Looking for a fun Father's Day Card idea?
Father's Day Card Idea by Kelly Rose a.k.a. Roseyscrapper

The base is Not Quite Navy card stock. The background panel was made using the emboss resist technique.   I randomly stamped the leaf image from Day of Gratitude on a 4 x 5 1/4 panel of patterned paper with VersaMark® after rubbing with the embossing buddy. Generously sprinkle with clear embossing powder, shake off excess and heat emboss.
I wanted a small print pattern; I thought that would look more masculine.  This pattern is from the retired paper pack Well Worn (2011-2012).
I used a sponge to apply Not Quite Navy ink all over the paper making sure to get into all the detailed areas of the leaf images.  Then I rubbed, more randomly, some Early Espresso ink around the leaf images. Using a soft cloth I rubbed the ink off the stamped and embossed images. I spritzed the background panel with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz® I also sponged the edges of the card base with early espresso.
The letters were stamped in Not Quite Navy on Crumb Cake card stock, hand cut out with Paper Snips (the best for "fussy" cutting), then sponged the edges with early Espresso.  In the fine detailed line around the edge of the letters I added Gold Lame Smooch® Pearlized Accent Ink (retired).
I mounted the letters with Stampin' Dimensionals® on 1 3/8" Square Early Espresso punchies that had also been spritzed with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz®.  The ribbon is 3/8" Soft SuedeTaffeta Ribbon.
The inside sentiment "on a scale from one to ten YOU'RE AN 11", stamped on 4 x 5 1/4" Crumb Cake card stock, is from the retired hostess set Perfect Words (2011-2012).
You could do this card with all kinds of different color schemes, patterned paper, stamped images and letter stamps.  Have fun! And if I helped you out, let me know by leaving a comment!
Have a FABULOUS day!

Handmade Birthday Card with Stampin' Up! Fabulous Florets

Isn't this a cool frame?  It's made by placing 2 of the Apothecary Accents Framelits dies on the same sheet of paper and running through the Big Shot at the same time.  (Tip:  Use removable tape to hold the frames in place on the paper)
I cut a second large medallion with Very Vanilla and did the stamping on that.  Line up the frame on top of the floral stamped image and use your Stamp a ma jig to stamp the greeting.  All edges have been sponged with Soft Suede ink. Then add the frame on top using Stampin dimensionals.  You can't really see that dimension in this photo, but trust me, it looks really cool in person and is worth the extra effort.  The string of pearls I added to the blue punched border are only 7 pearls long on each side.  You don't want to waste the pearls in the middle that won't be seen.  After tying the bow, adhere it with mini-glue dots and snail adhesive.
Catherine Pooler has a great video for this frame.  Mine is an easier version, but you should check out her video.
Make sure you check out all my DEALS below!
And make it a FABULOUS day!

Stampin' Up! Word Play handmade card

Every Wednesday, I joyfully find in my inbox an email from Splitcoaststampers containing their weekly "inkling" (click on the link to go to the tutorial). The "inkling" always contains a tutorial for some cool technique.  My card I'm sharing today was inspired by this week's "inkling" although I didn't use the technique, just the design and color scheme.
I love the Perfect Plum and Certainly Celery color scheme, and in an effort to break out of my own mold, I added just that little touch of Calypso Coral to the card.  Do you think it works? ( I feel like I'm always so hesitant to add that 3rd color.)
I was inspired to use the sentiment for the Word Play set because I had a great Facebook Chat with a dear friend of mine the other night. She always makes me laugh; it's a beautiful gift!!  I think you should always have people in your life who make you laugh.

On another note, don't miss out on all the happenings!
Now, go talk to someone who will make you laugh and have a great day!

Stampin' Up! Betsy's Blossoms Clean and Simple

I needed a card for a friend and this sentiment suits her to a tee.  It makes me smile.  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set; perhaps its in your stash and you haven't used it in awhile.  It's from a set called Favorite Thoughts.  I really like the layout using Betsy's Blossoms stamp set; and any sentiment, as well as color scheme, would work for this card, don't you think?  I also think this stamp set will make awesome background paper for scrapbooking pages.
Thanks for stopping by for a look.  If I've inspired you, I invite you to leave a comment.  They really keep me going!

New Firm Foam Classic Ink pads by Stampin' Up!

Introducing firm foam pads! They change your stamping experience for the better.  I love using them.  They're so juicy and easy to use.  Find out below how to try one for free!

I know you’re going to love these new Stampin’ Pads—just look at all the exciting benefits listed below:
  • Provide better ink coverage for your stamps!
  • Light-tap stamping produces flawless images!
In addition, our new Stampin’ Pads...
  • Create wonderfully solid images. The Firm Foam releases more ink onto your rubber stamp than the felt pads. When using the Firm Foam pad, your stamp will get an even, solid covering of ink that you may not have been able to achieve with the felt pads. Please note: if you are using the ink pad frequently you may need to re-ink your Firm Foam pad more often.
  • Have a crisply printed, glossy label on the top of the pad that is easier to read and that will not fade or chip off!
  • Come with color name labels in all four languages (English, Spanish, French, and German)--just choose your language, peel it off the back, and add it to the side of the pad for easy identification!
  • Use the same patented flip-top case design that stores the inking surface upside down, so the pad surface stays moist!
  • Are available in all colors, including our exclusive In Colors!

Please note: Five ink colors have undergone formula changes to improve functionality and color stability with the new firm foam pads. These colors are
  • Basic Black
  • Basic Gray
  • Marina Mist
  • Perfect Plum
  • Tempting Turquoise
All five colors of the reformulated inks have been fully tested and approved. While using the new ink formula in the old Stampin’ Pads is fine, Stampin' Up! does not recommend using the old ink formula for these five colors in the new firm foam pads.

I can't wait for you to try these new foam ink pads.  Contact me to today to schedule some "play" time or a party for your friends and family.  I'll also include a new FREE classic ink pad with your $50 or more order during June.  To receive your FREE classic ink pad you must call or email your order. I'm sorry, but online orders will not apply as I cannot add anything to those orders for you.
Hope your day is FABULOUS!
